  • Who is this tasting for?

    We recommend the Shiraz Sojourn tasting experience for those who are keen to understand the Hunter Valley's red grape varietal, Shiraz. This tasting will show you just how versatile Shiraz truly can be. This is a 45 minute tasting and costs $20pp.

  • How does it work?

    You will be seated for your tasting, provided with 3 wine glasses and a sheet of the wines you will be tasting. In total there are 3 brackets and for each you will taste 2 or 3 wines, allowing you to compare them with one another.

  • What wines do we taste?

    Embark on a flavourful journey through eight exquisite Hunter Valley Shiraz wines, including the iconic Kiss Shiraz. You'll be tastings our current Shiraz releases and our newly reintroduced DJV Shiraz Pinot blend.

The Hunter Valley is the birth place of Shiraz in Australia, the styles produced here are very unique to our region. Hunter Shiraz is proudly medium bodied, with a distinctively savoury structure and food friendly texture. An inwardly concentrated core ensures the best examples of Hunter Shiraz have amazing long term cellaring potential.

The modern style of Hunter Shiraz is a far cry from the wines of yesteryear. The contemporary style displays an aromatic fruit purity and vibrancy, all framed within a regional, medium bodied structure. This, together with a more ‘hands-off’ approach to our winemaking, has allowed the true character of each vineyard to shine through - just the way wine should be....
