2023 Two of a Kind Shiraz
2023 Two of a Kind Shiraz
This is an absolutely seamless blend of shiraz from the Hunter Valley and McLaren Vale. Medium bodied savoury spice meets fleshy, sweet fruit in a single glass. This wine was release in October 2024. Our ‘Two of a Kind’ wines are a tribute to the multi-regional blends that created some of Australia’s best wines in the 50’s and 60’s. The wines are based on the Hunter Valley’s signature varieties of Semillon and Shiraz, and blended with the varieties that are well suited to other South Australian regions providing an interesting twist and extra dimension to these unique wine styles.

Tasting Notes
-
Appearance & Aroma
This wine has a youthful bright deep purple colour.
This is accompanied by an expressive nose of violet, mocha choc, vanilla, tobacco pouch, pink pepper and generous fresh dark berries and fruits.
-
Palate & Finish
The palate is full and alluring with classic dark chocolate, rooibos tea and fruit pastilles with a core of ripe boysenberry, red plum and dark cherry with hints of dutch licorice and baking spices. Expect fine soft tannin with an interlaced juicy mouthfeel. There’s a captivating length to the palate, it will keep you coming back for more. This is a seamless, seductive, and dangerously drinkable style.
WHEN TO DRINK
Great value everyday drinking that is ready to drink now or but has the attributes to cellar well over the next five+ years. Its fruit intensity and supple tannin structure make it enjoyable in its youth, particularly with food.
The Vineyards
Whilst I have always applied a no compromise, attention to detail approach to my winemaking, I truly believe that 90% of the quality lies in the vineyard. The key to great wine is ‘keeping it simple’ to preserve that potential quality from the vine through to the bottle - Andrew Thomas
